Scripture Reading:
"John, to the seven churches in the province of Asia: Grace and peace to you from Him who is, and who was, and who is to come, and from the seven spirits before His throne, and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by His blood, and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve His God and Father—to Him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen." (Revelation 1:4-6, NIV)

Grace, Peace, and Our Identity in Christ |
Reflection:
The book of Revelation opens with a powerful reminder of who God is and who we are in Christ. John addresses the seven churches in Asia Minor, but his words resonate with us today. He begins by extending "grace and peace" from the triune God: the eternal Father ("Him who is, and who was, and who is to come"), the Holy Spirit ("the seven spirits before His throne"), and Jesus Christ, the faithful witness who conquered death and reigns over all.
In these verses, we are reminded of three profound truths:
God’s Eternal Nature: God is timeless—He was, He is, and He is to come. This assures us that He is in control of our past, present, and future.
Christ’s Redemptive Work: Jesus loves us, freed us from our sins by His blood, and gave us new life. His sacrifice is the foundation of our faith.
Our Identity in Christ: We are called to be a "kingdom and priests," set apart to serve God and bring Him glory. This is our purpose and privilege as believers.
Application:
Today, take a moment to reflect on your identity in Christ. You are loved, redeemed, and called to serve the King of kings. How can you live out your role as a priest in God’s kingdom? Whether through worship, prayer, or acts of service, let your life reflect the grace and peace you have received.
Prayer:Heavenly Father, thank You for Your eternal presence in our lives. Thank You, Jesus, for Your sacrifice that freed us from sin and gave us new life. Holy Spirit, empower us to live as Your kingdom and priests, bringing glory to Your name. Help us to walk in grace and peace today, sharing Your love with those around us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Closing Thought:
As you go about your day, remember that you are part of God’s eternal plan. Let His grace and peace guide your steps, and let your life be a testimony of His love and power.
Blessings,
